Remove the top ball and snip the end to the desired length.
Use clean, sharp scissors and cut it on a sharp diagonal, not straight across.
Do not take off the charm or dangle end of any belly button ring.
*If you have a maternity belly ring, be sure not to cut it too short.
You want to leave plenty of growing room.
Push the ball firmly back onto the bar and turn slowly until you feel it catch.
It may take you a few times to get it right. If the ball looks a little crooked at first, don't worry.
It will look great when you put the belly button ring back in. Remember the PTFE is very flexible.
Twist the ball on and off a few turns to set the new threads
Take the ball completely off and sanitize with warm water and antibacterial soap, then reinsert your new, custom fit belly button ring. Be sure to push down on the ball as you are twisting it back on.
